BL or bl = back loop, i.e., the loop of the stitch which is further away from you
BP or bp = back post, i.e., crochet from the back and around the post or stem of the stitch on the row below which you are working

BPsc or bpsc = back post single crochet (american terminology)
BPtc or bptc = back post treble crochet
